Nail Care 101: Prepping Your Nails for Kleo Application
Trying something new is always a little challenging, and my first Kleo application was far from flawless. It looked ok and seemed good until a couple of days later when the back edges began to catch in my hair. I have asked others for advice, tried several different techniques myself, and have figured out how to achieving a flawless Kleo Kolor manicure now. It all starts with proper nail preparation. Here’s a step-by-step guide to ensure your nails are ready for application:
- First, Cleanse Your Hands and Nails:
- Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water to remove oils and impurities.
- Dry your hands completely to ensure a clean surface.
- Next, Push Back Your Cuticles:
- Use the provided manicure stick to gently push back your cuticles around the edges and the back of your nail.
- I also like the use the Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover sometimes (not every time though.)
- Shape and Buff Nails:
- Trim and file your nails to your desired shape. When using a press-on, I trim my nails shorter than I would for the LED gel strips. I don’t like too much of my own nail showing underneath the back of the press-ons, but that’s personal preference.
- Lightly buff the surface to get a better adhesion.
- Wipe Nails with Prep Pad:
- Use the included prep pad to wipe each nail, removing any remaining oils or debris from the filing of your nails.
- Ensure nails are completely dry before proceeding.
By following these steps, you’ll create the perfect foundation for your Kleo Kolor manicure, ensuring a long-lasting and beautiful result. Check out my upcoming blog posts for tips on both the LED strips and the Press-on sets.
